“Artistic Interplay,” by Nick Biagini and Carla Ann Di Nunzio

Nick Biagini describes the exhibit:

As an educator I have always imparted to my students that there are no insignificant moments in life. One realizes that years down the road. I first met Carla DiNunzio when I was school principal and she was the Arts Resource teacher for the Toronto Catholic District School Board. I always admired her passion for the arts and the visual arts in particular. Our discussions whenever she visited the school were centered on various art topics from particular artists to styles of painting to eventually exhibiting together.

This show, “Artistic Interplay,” is the result of a seed that was planted many years ago and finally Carla DiNunzio and Nick Biagini will be sharing their love for artistic expression through their paintings. Our passion may be the same but our styles are different, demonstrating the power of the artistic vision and the context in which one creates.

Carla Ann Di Nunzio was born and raised in Toronto and had the fortunate experience of living in Italy for 3 months each year from the age of eight. She received her B.Ed from University of Toronto and received a Specialist in Arts at York University.

She has studied Fine Art in Siena Italy, colour theory form the Cape Cod School of Art in Provincetown, USA with Lois Griffel, Oil Painting from Master artists from Italy including Stefano Presutti, Darkroom Photography from OCAD University and Technology in the Arts at Humber College for Photoshop, Illustrator, and Web design.

She has extensive experience in painting in oils, acrylics, mixed media, pastel portraiture, alla prima and plein air painting.
